Description

Engineering Drawing is an interesting subject. The opinion of the students is sharply divided as to whether the subject is easy or difficult. Many find it extremely easy while others find it extremely difficult. Strangely there are no in-between opinions about the subject. I have been teaching it now for more than ten years, and have analyzed the reactions of the students. Well, it is really easy for those who take an interest in it. It is a subject based on understanding, logic and common-sense. Those who are keen to adopt this route like it. On the other hand, those who are used to mugging and last minute scanning of the books find it extremely difficult. Well, is as simple as that. As a subject, nothing could be easier than Engineering Drawing for two reasons. Firstly, once you understand the concept of points, you have covered almost 80-85% % of the drawing. What all follows in the subsequent chapters is the mere extension of the same concepts with just 15-20% new things emerging thereafter. Secondly, once you have understood the drawing and prepared the sheets yourself, you don’t have to open any book before the examination. All you have to do is just to glance through the sheets and walk into the examination hall.
